1. What do I do if I need help? What support is available?
The Common CV has three levels of online help. Help and Section Help buttons in the top bar provide general and section specific help text. Help to determine what is required within a specific field is found by clicking on the in front of the field. Go to the Help page.

If you have questions regarding the Common CV system, contact the help desk of the agency to which you are applying. Support is available between 8 am and 5 pm (EST) five days a week.

  • For CIHR, technical questions contact the technical help desk at (613) 941-0068 or send an e-mail to webform@cihr.ca. For program-related questions, call (613) 954-1968 or email info@cihr.gc.ca.

  • For Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research, technical questions contact the MSFHR Helpdesk: (604) 714-6609 or toll free 1-866-MSFHRBC (1-866-673-4722) or email helpdesk@msfhr.org.

  • For University of Alberta Faculty of Nursing (UAFN) , call UAFN Helpdesk at (780) 492-9801 or send an email to ccvsupport@nurs.ualberta.ca.

  • For Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, call Patty Nakanishi at (613) 569-4361, ext 305 or send an e-mail to pnakanishi@hsf.ca.

  • For Networks of Centres of Excellence (NCE), call the NSERC Help Desk at (613) 995-4273 or send an e-mail to webapp@nserc.ca.
  • If you need to add a funding source to the Common CV funding list, email organismes@frsq.gouv.qc.ca.

  2. When can I expect maintenance and upgrades to the system?
Maintenance and upgrades are scheduled to take place Monday to Friday between midnight and 2 a.m. Normally, the system will remain available during those times. Any planned outages will be posted in the messages section of the Home - My CV page.
